COWBOYS SEND MICAH PARSONS TO GREEN BAY IN BLOCKBUSTER TRADE

Why I don't care...DUECES! PEACE OUT!!

August 29, 2025 - Ivan Dawkins, BS3 Network COO/Staff Writer

In a move that has Cowboys Nation spiraling and Packers fans ordering their Super Bowl tickets way too early, Dallas just shipped superstar linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. The return? First-round picks in 2026 and 2027 plus veteran DT Kenny Clark. Oh, and Green Bay handed Parsons a record-setting contract, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Let that marinate.

Now, Dallas trading Parsons isn’t just a transaction, it’s a full-on philosophy shift. Jerry Jones, "The Gambler" has never moved on from a player in his prime. On paper, the dude is a stat machine: sacks, pressures, versatility, yada yada. Historically good numbers for his first four years. The kind of stuff that gets you memes, highlight reels, and shiny trophies for your mantle. But here’s the problem: none of it shows up when it actually matters. THE PLAYOFFS!! Casper the friendly ghost. Big games? Disappearing acts. December rolls around, and suddenly the “Lion” turns into a house kitty-cat. PURRRRR!!! But hey, at least he pads the regular-season stat sheet, right?

Now, let’s not ignore the elephant in the locker room. With all of the talent that he clearly posseses, Micah hasn’t exactly elevated the guys around him. The greats? They change the whole temperature of a team. Micah? He’s the space heater you forget to turn on. Collecting dust. So no, dropping historic money on a guy who racks up sacks but disappears when the lights are brightest doesn’t exactly scream “wise investment” to me. But who the hell am I? Welp, Green Bay did it anyway. Congrats, Packers, you just bought the NFL’s most expensive January cameo at $47 Million/yr. Enjoy those jersey sells.

Meanwhile in Dallas, word is Jerry and the front office were quietly concerned about Parsons’ “leadership qualities.” Translation? He wasn’t leading. And if there’s one thing Jerry has always demanded from his big-money guys, it’s leadership, whether it’s real or imagined. If you can’t command the locker room, Jerry ain’t cutting the check. He’s been playing that game for three decades. One more thing to consider regarding The Gambler’s thought process. As a really good friend of mine so keenly stated, “As we’ve gotten older, our tolerance for things we don’t like gets lower the older we get.  Jerry Jones is in his 80’s! He ain’t got time for some of the BS that he’s dealt with in the past.” Well said Kebbo!!

Of course, some fans will act like this is the end of the world. “How could you trade Micah?!” Easy, because superstar pass rushers are easier to replace than frsanchise quarterbacks. You can manufacture pressure with scheme. You can draft raw athletes. You can rotate guys until someone sticks. But finding Dak Prescott or someone better isn’t exactly a Walmart aisle pickup. For the record, I wouldn’t pay Dak $60M a year either, but at least the logic is there. Quarterback scarcity is real. Edge rusher scarcity? Not so much. And honestly, this defense wasn’t about to morph into the ‘85 Bears with Parsons anyway. They’ve been soft against the run for years. At least Kenny Clark gives them a legitimate anchor in the trenches. Sure, he's a bit long in the tooth, but a definite upgrade over Mazi Smith. Not a miracle cure, but at least he shows up in January.

Me personally? I’m not losing sleep over this. I was way more heartbroken when Luka got sent packing to the Lakers (don’t get me started). Micah leaving Dallas? Ehhhh. Maybe I’m biased though. At Super Bowl LVII in Phoenix, AZ on media row covering the week of activities, I’m with my adult twin sons. Micah strolls by with one dude, not an entourage. I say, “What’s up Micah? We’re from Dallas!” He glances over, and just keeps walking. Nothing. Not even the half-smile, half-nod athletes usually toss out when they don’t want to engage. Ice cold. To save face with my sons, I had to toss out a loud, “Forget you then, sucka! Just keep gettin’ sacks!” But trust me, the music died that day.

So yeah, best of luck, Green Bay. Hope Micah earns that monster check. Hope he wrecks shop and makes y’all feel good about the trade. But just remember: it ain’t Dallas. And when the lights get bright, don’t be shocked if your shiny new toy runs out of batteries.

No tears here. No regrets. No worries. Forwaaaaard MARCH!!!!

Great Read! The truth is the Cowboys aren't close with or without Micah. This trade does help with the future if the picks are used well. It might be time for a Rebuild.

If those picks hit, you could be right back in the mix…But that’s a BIF “if”.
